Thirty years after the last guest checked out, Hotel Magnolia has re-opened.

The newly renovated hotel in the heart of downtown Foley offers locals and travelers luxuries of a by-gone era—crystal chandeliers, sumptuous antiques and exquisite mosaic-tile bathrooms.

All for about the same price you’d pay for an ordinary hotel room.

A group of invited guests enjoyed a sneak preview of the new Hotel Magnolia at a Ribbon-Cutting on Friday, February 11. Tours of the handsomely appointed guest rooms and parlor were provided.

The first guests stayed over the Valentine’s Day Weekend.

For reservations call 251-943-5297.

Hotel Magnolia will be marketed regionally in print publications and globally via the world wide web in a campaign that will stress the fact that the Foley hotel will offer an extraordinary level of comfort at a reasonable price.

“Why settle for a place to sleep, when you can have a place to dream,” advertisements for Hotel Magnolia will ask.

Hotel Magnolia was built in 1908 by John Burton Foley, founder of this south Baldwin County city. It is owned by Mrs. Marjorie Snook.

An actor portraying Mr. Foley was part of a short theatrical presentation marking the re-opening of this historic property. The hotel is located at 119 North McKenzie Street, near the intersection of Hwys 98 and 59-directly across from the old train depot.
