Antique Rose Trail
It’s a great time of year to stroll out the front door of Hotel Magnolia and straight on to the Antique Rose Trail, home to an astonishing 515 different roses.
Founded in 2007 by Foley City Administrator Perry Wilbourne and volunteer Bill Goodwin, the Trail winds through the downtown area near the Railroad Depot Museum, making for a delightful walk that might remind you of your grandmother’s garden.
The Antique Rose Trail also offers benches and gazebos along the way where you can have a delightful picnic.
And, if you’re a rose aficionado, there’s even more fun to be had, with rose varieties like the China Rose that date to 1752 all the way up to the latest species. The antique rose is ideally suited to Foley’s subtropical climate, and its disease resistant nature helps ensure bold splashes of color all along your stroll down the Trail.
So, when you’re ready for a peaceful, fragrant stroll, take a picnic from Magnolia Court Restaurant and enjoy this magnificent trail of flowers.
The Hotel Magnolia is located directly across from the start of the Trail.
