Hotel Magnolia Under New Management
A hotel management veteran is the new Manager of The Hotel Magnolia.
Mary Searcy Younce, who opened and managed Riverview Plaza in Mobile, Alabama and previously managed reservations for the Grand Hotel at Point Clear has been named manager of Foley’s historic inn, and she’s already begun implementing new ideas.
“We will not rest until we’ve established The Hotel Magnolia as a first-rate property with the amenities and services of a larger hotel, but we do not intend to sacrifice the informal atmosphere that people love so much,” Mrs. Younce said.
Among the first new additions: a choice of four breakfasts served on china in the main room of the hotel.
“We can now say The Hotel Magnolia is a bed and breakfast, worthy of the name. With the kitchens of Magnolia Court Restaurant so close at hand, we’re able to upgrade our offerings in many ways,” Mrs. Younce said.
Mrs. Younce said a new standard of hospitality and care will be established both for guests and for the many wedding parties who make Hotel Magnolia their headquarters. Which explains her new motto: “Service, service, service.”
